Get ready for an unforgettable adventure in this jewel of the Mediterranean! Spend 4 days in Mallorca, an ideal destination to travel with friends or family.

What to do in Mallorca on the first day

Welcome to Mallorca, the jewel of the Mediterranean. Our exciting 4-day trip starts now. After landing at the airport, we prepare to discover the treasures of this island paradise. With the city of Palma as our base, we head into the heart of the city to explore its historic charm. The old town welcomes us with its narrow cobbled streets and sandstone buildings that tell stories of centuries gone by. The first stop is the marvellous Palma Cathedral. Located in the heart of Palma, it is one of the most emblematic and visited monuments on the island.

This magnificent Gothic-style cathedral began its construction in the 13th century and spanned several centuries, which is reflected in its interesting mix of architectural styles. Its design, with three main doors and numerous ornamental details, combines Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements, giving it a unique singularity.

Without a doubt, Palma Cathedral is a place you cannot miss during your holidays in Mallorca. Its impressive architecture, fascinating history and beauty will captivate you.

After visiting this marvellous Cathedral, you can finish the day by walking around the old town, the main square, the Arab baths or the Jewish quarter, or strolling along the seafront promenade and eating in one of the restaurants and trying some of the typical Mallorcan dishes such as tumbet, trampó, coques salades, or lechona (suckling pig).

And with our belly full, we can take a well-deserved rest in our hotel, ready to continue exploring everything that Mallorca has in store for us.

Activities to do in Mallorca on the second day

How about discovering the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range? This is a mountain range declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Let’s drive into this natural paradise and make our first stop in Valldemossa, a picturesque mountain village known for its natural beauty, rich history and tranquil atmosphere.  Valldemossa will captivate you from the moment you set foot on its cobbled streets, traditional architecture, lush gardens and breathtaking panoramic views. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the famous Valldemossa Charterhouse, a former monastery where the famous composer Frédéric Chopin spent a creative winter.

We continue our journey through the Serra de Tramuntana and arrive in Deià, another hidden treasure between the mountains and the sea. This small village is a bohemian haven. Let’s stroll through its steep, narrow streets.

As the sun begins to set, you can go to the Sa Foradada viewpoint, one of the most popular in Mallorca because the sun sets behind a rock in which the wind has formed a hole in the middle. As it gets very crowded on summer days, another option is to watch the sunset on the rock of Sa Foradada itself. It takes a few minutes to get there from the beach, and there are stairs that lead to the top. From the top you can see the beach of Sa Foradada and the whole bay.

Plans in Mallorca for the third day

Today we venture out to discover the impressive Mondragó Natural Park, a natural paradise on the southeast coast of the island. In our car, we drive to this protected enclave, where pristine beaches with crystal-clear waters and winding nature trails await.

Upon arrival, we are met with an incredible view. We start hiking on the trails that wind around the park, surrounded by dense pine forests and Mediterranean vegetation. As we walk, we can discover hidden coves, impressive cliffs and breathtaking viewpoints.

A short distance from the Mondragó Natural Park is the colourful village of Mallorca: Portocolom. The lighthouse of Portocolom, also known as Faro de Sa Punta, is an emblematic landmark of the area. You can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding area from the top of the lighthouse. It also boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca. You can enjoy the sun and relax on the beach of Cala Marçal, Cala Sa Nau or Cala Brafi. These beaches offer crystal clear waters and breathtaking scenery. Although it no longer has much relevance, the Port of Portocolom was the main commercial port. Nowadays you can stroll around it and discover the old fishermen’s huts, the boats and the colourful façades that offer a very picturesque landscape that is very difficult to forget. Finally, the old quarter of Portocolom is called Es Riuetó. It is a very small village with a central square called Plaça de Sant Jaume and there you can take the opportunity to visit the well-known Church of Mare de Déu del Carmen.
