5 different things to do on a spring break on Mallorca

Planning a visit to the island and looking for things to do? Don’t worry, Palma Aquarium has come up with 5 things to do on Mallorca so you can enjoy your stay to the full.  During your stay, you’ll have the chance to experience the wide range of activities this destination has to offer all ages and at any time of year.

Art gallery visits

Did you know that Mallorca ranks sixth on the list of the top ten Spanish provinces with most art galleries? Mallorca is not only rich in delicious gastronomy and superb scenery, but also in art. Our island has been home to numerous painters and artists including  Santiago Rusiñol, who named Mallorca “the island of calm”, or Joan Miró, famous for his surrealist style and use of bold colours and who also has his own foundation.

Don’t miss the opportunity to discover and delve into the world of art by visiting the fabulous exhibitions you’ll find in Palma, including some of the best-known venues such as the Juan March Foundation Museum, the  Joan Miró Foundation, or the Gerhardt Braun Gallery.

Savour Balearic Island gastronomy

The city of Palma is famed for its wealth of gastronomy choices and is one of the finest destinations for enjoying produce from the sea and the land. And it goes without saying that its dishes feature the finest ingredients of the Mediterranean diet.

During your visit to the city centre, take time to stop off at Santa Catalina Market and El Olivar Market to taste some of the island’s best-known dishes or tapas, accompanied by a glass of wine. If you’re looking for an outstanding traditional  gastronomy experience,  then we recommend the cellers, typical taverns or properties which have been converted into restaurants serving classic Mallorcan dishes and featuring the island’s typical décor.

Sunsets in Valldemossa

An absolute must is finding the time to experience a stunning sunset, and what better option than one of the island’s best-known and most spectacular towns? An early evening stroll around the picturesque streets, visiting the open-air markets and even exploring La Cartuja, a monumental building and once the home of King Sancho I of Mallorca, is the perfect opportunity for admiring one of the most stunning sunsets you could imagine.

The more adventurous can also observe the sunset whilst following one of Mallorca’s magnificent hiking routes.

Discover the island’s flora in all its glory

Spring is the time when Mallorca’s countless species of flora start to bloom, making it one of the best times of year to visit the island. You can enjoy the wealth of aromas and colours as you walk along the “S’Hort del Rei”, situated just a few minutes from the cathedral or during a visit to Sóller, where you will be able to marvel at the orange blossom, and even visit the Botanical Garden, home to a wide range of Balearic Island species in danger of extinction.

A visit to Palma Aquarium

A visit to Palma Aquarium is an absolute must on your list of things to do on Mallorca. Inside you’ll find a wealth of exhibits, with more than 55 tanks and 700 species of flora and fauna from around the world.
