Here at Palma Aquarium we’re committed to environmental education and caring for the marine world. And for this reason, we’re proud to present our new educational programme for the 2024-2025 school year, specially designed to allow students to dive into the fascinating world of the oceans and learn the importance of their conservation in a dynamic and interactive way.
School visits: Options tailored to suit all levels of education
Our educational programme is designed to awaken interest and curiosity in marine life from an early age. It includes activities tailored to all school levels, from Primary and Junior levels, to Secondary and Sixth Form.
Our guided tours offer pupils the chance to explore various marine ecosystems and learn about the challenges facing our oceans today. They will also obtain a first-hand insight into our efforts to protect and conserve our seas.
At Palma Aquarium, our school visits are designed to be much more than just an outing: they are a true immersion into the world of conservation and environmental education.
– Interactive guided tours: Our Ocean Experts will take the pupils on a fascinating journey through marine habitats, providing invaluable information for their learning experiences and answering all their questions.
– Dynamic and participatory educational workshops: Our workshops cover topics such as marine biodiversity, ocean pollution and the conservation measures we can adopt to protect our marine environment.
– Practical activities: Students will be able to enjoy hands-on activities that will promote their learning through direct experiences, such as preparing and feeding the fish, exploring the world of sharks and taking part in marine wildlife rescue drills.
School camps: an unforgettable experience
Have you ever dreamt of taking part in a shark sleepover? At Palma Aquarium, you can make your dream come true with our school camps: unique educational experiences that bring together learning, adventure and fun in a single package.
Pupils will be able to explore the aquarium from a completely different perspective with an experience that includes a guided tour of the aquarium, watching a film about humpback whales or the planets at our Aquadome 3D Cinema, and enjoying specially tailored activities and interactive workshops designed to reveal the secrets of the ocean.
Pupils will sleep in a specially designated area next to the shark tank, offering them a memorable experience that combines learning with the thrill of being surrounded by these majestic creatures. The experience also includes all meals throughout the day, from breakfast to dinner and including an afternoon snack, so pupils will be fully focused on having the time of their lives.
Book your school visit
For teachers, Palma Aquarium’s educational programme and school camps are an exceptional means of adding value to the school curriculum with activities that will boost pupils’ environmental awareness and teamwork skills. What’s more, we include teaching resources and additional materials to prepare students for their visit, thereby ensuring a truly enriching experience.
We strongly encourage all educational centres in the Balearic Islands to take part in our programme. The school visits last for at least 3 hours and can be adapted to suit each group’s particular learning needs and objectives.
