Join Climate Action at Palma Aquarium from 24th to 27th October

24th October is the International Day of Climate Action, a key date in raising awareness around the world of the devastating impact climate change is having on our planet.

Here at Palma Aquarium, we are committed to conservation and environmental education, which is why we have prepared a special programme of events that will be taking place between 24th and 27th October under the title “Art For Action”. An initiative that encourages everyone to become part of the change, using art as a call to action and a means of raising awareness of the need to care for the environment. Through our educational, interactive and creative activities, together we can inspire positive change and safeguard our planet, seas and oceans.

Live Art Mural for Climate Action

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., visitors will be able to enjoy a live painting session in collaboration with the artist Art is Life. The mural will be created in our Mediterranean gardens, and each brushstroke will represent a commitment to the conservation of the planet. Art can act as a powerful tool in expressing the urgent need to take action against climate change.

Painting workshops and COMPETITION. Win an Ocean Pass!

During your visit to Palma Aquarium, you will be able to join our tempera painting workshop, which runs between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Express your creativity and join the global climate awareness movement with the support of the Balearic Island School of Art and Design (EASDIB).

What’s more, you’ll have the chance to win an Ocean Pass, Palma Aquarium’s annual pass. To take part in this competition, simply create your drawing on the canvas using tempera paints and post it on your social media (Instagram/Facebook), remembering to include the hashtag #ARTFORACTION.

Experience ACTION Labs

Do you know how climate change affects the various marine ecosystems? With our Experience ACTION Labs, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the impacts of climate change on the Mediterranean, coral reefs and sharks living in open waters through various interactions with our Ocean Experts. The times for this activity are between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., depending on the area of the aquarium, giving you multiple opportunities to immerse yourself in this educational experience.

Feeding the marine life

Watch as the divers and aquarists at Palma Aquarium feed various marine animals, such as majestic sharks, octopuses, rays, turtles, and the brightly coloured coral reefs, while our Ocean Experts will surprise you with interesting facts about each of these species.

Ocean Quiz Roulette

Think you know enough about climate change? Test your knowledge in the ocean roulette with two sessions scheduled at 12:00 and 15:00 in our Mediterranean Gardens – a fun way to learn and reflect on our daily actions!

“The Sea and Our Future”: a Palma Aquarium Foundation workshop

Scheduled for 3 p.m., “The Sea and Our Future” is an interactive workshop where participants can create ideal conditions for the seas, in contrast to the current situation, and the chance to explore how our decisions impact on marine life.

Join the experts from the Palma Aquarium Foundation to find out how we can become more aware of our ecological footprint and the actions we can take to protect the oceans.

Join the action against climate change

The fight against climate change requires the involvement and commitment of us all. Visit Palma Aquarium between 24th and 27th October and take part in inspiring activities designed to generate positive change. “Art For Action” is an opportunity to make your voice hear through art and contribute to protecting the planet.
