It is an incredible Cathedral and is a must-see for all visitors to the island of Mallorca. The construction of the cathedral began in 1229, after the conquest of Mallorca by the Crown of Aragon. It is a monument that stands out for the numerous restorations it has undergone over the years, and one of the most outstanding ones was carried out by Antoni Gaudí, the famous Catalan architect known for his great architectural works in the city of Barcelona. 

A visit to this cathedral is a must, as it encompasses great works of art by different architects and painters who have been adding their own contribution. For example, between 2001 and 2006, the painter Miquel Barceló created a spectacular mural inside the Capella del Santísim, one of the three chapels inside the cathedral, which is now one of the cathedral’s main attractions.
