Special Programme for Balearic Islands Day 2024

Balearic Islands Day is the official holiday in our autonomous community, held each year on 1st March. Our big day is approaching fast, and we’ve prepared a special programme of activities to commemorate this special date, which is celebrated throughout the islands.

Between 29th February and 3rd March,  our pride in the Balearic Islands will be more evident than ever. During this period, we will be holding a series of special activities designed to share with our visitors the immense natural wealth of the islands and their Mediterranean Sea.

  1. A guided tour of the Mediterranean:

Discover the best-kept secrets of the Balearic Islands’ underwater world. Dive in and enjoy a sensational experience as you explore the amazing  Mediterranean habitats, accompanied by our Ocean Experts, authentic specialists in nature and conservation.

  1. Octoquiz

This fun quiz based on the marine world will put your knowledge to the test. Find out who knows more – you or the octopuses that live in Palma Aquarium. But don’t think it’ll be a pushover: octopuses are incredibly intelligent animals.

  1. Cluedo: Mystery in the Mediterranean

Follow the clues to discover why Mallorca’s beaches have been closed. What’s happened? Who’s to blame? If you think you’re a sharp-witted investigator, come and help us solve this tragic mystery.

  1. Feeding the marine animals

Watch Palma Aquarium’s team of aquarists feed the various marine animals, including the majestic sharks, rays and the brightly coloured coral reef. What’s more, our Ocean Experts will surprise you with intriguing facts and information about each of these species.

  1. Experience Labs

Our Ocean Experts will reveal the secrets of the Mediterranean Sea, sharks, corals and plankton in the various Experience Labs dotted along the route around the Aquarium. These talks and experiments will add the perfect finishing touch to your underwater experience.

Come and celebrate with us at the Palma Aquarium between 29th February and 3rd March.  A tour around 24,000 m2 where you will be able to observe more than 8,000 specimens belonging to 700 different species from all over the planet, an exhibition of living corals unlike any other in the world, and also enjoy the exhibitions, recreational zones and interactive areas. And now, in addition to all this, you can take advantage of our special programme of events and celebrate Balearic Islands Day in style. Make sure you don’t miss out!
