Jellyfish

Immerse yourself in the allure of nature's most mesmerizing creatures

Jellyfish

A space to relax

The jellyfish exhibit is one of the most calming areas in our facility. Designed for introspection and escape from the busy outside world, it invites visitors to sit and marvel at the hypnotic movement of these graceful creatures.

The unique tank design enhances the experience with special lighting effects in varying colors, emphasizing the ethereal movement of these ancient beings, as mysterious as they are beautiful.

Among the Oldest Creatures on Earth

Jellyfish are some of the planet's most ancient inhabitants, with their lineage tracing back an incredible 700 million years.

With no bones, brains, or eyes, jellyfish blend seamlessly into their environment. Composed of about 98% water, their tentacles are equipped with specialized stinging cells to capture prey.

Unlike many marine species that are severely impacted by climate change, jellyfish are remarkably resilient to rising ocean temperatures, pH changes, and overfishing.

At Palma Aquarium, you can encounter species like the Aurelia aurita, commonly known as the moon jellyfish—a fascinating resident of the Mediterranean Sea that you can observe up close.
