School visits to Palma Aquarium for all levels

23-10-2025

Here at Palma Aquarium, we are committed to environmental education and caring for the marine world. As part of this undertaking, we are delighted to present our new educational programme for the 2025-2026 academic year, designed to enable pupils to dive into the fascinating world of marine life and learn about the importance of marine conservation in a dynamic and interactive manner.

For teachers, Palma Aquarium’s educational programme of school visits and camps is an outstanding opportunity to enrich the school curriculum with activities that will raise environmental awareness, promote marine conservation and enhance pupils’ teamwork skills.

School visits for all educational levels

At Palma Aquarium we are convinced that the best way to protect our seas is to learn about them from an early age. This is the thinking behind an educational programme tailored to suit all levels, from early years to sixth form, and even pupils undertaking vocational training courses.

During their visit, pupils will have the opportunity to explore different marine ecosystems, the current challenges our seas and oceans face, as well as our day-to-day work to protect them. Lasting at least three hours, the guided tours and activities in our educational programme are tailored to each group’s objectives and include teaching materials to make the most of the experience with prior preparation in the classroom.

Our school visits are designed to be more than just an outing: they are an authentic immersion into fascinating underwater worlds, with the focus on conservation and environmental education.

  • Interactive guided tours: Our Ocean Experts will guide the pupils on a fascinating route through the planet’s myriad marine habitats, providing valuable insights that will enhance their learning and answering all the questions they may have.

  • Educational, dynamic and participatory activities: Our activities cover topics such as marine biodiversity, the threats it faces, and the measures we can take to protect it—from small everyday actions at home to larger-scale initiatives linked to marine conservation projects that will safeguard our environment.

Depending on the educational level, pupils can take part in practical, hands-on activities that drive learning through direct experience: dissecting a fish, exploring the world of sharks, or taking part in simulated marine animal rescues, among others.

  • Additional activities: In addition to the 3D Aquadome Cinema featuring humpback whales, pupils can now enjoy a new immersive virtual reality experience. Seated in moving capsules, they can embark on a 360° cinematic journey into the depths of the ocean, accompanied by dolphins, sharks and manta rays.

School camps: an unforgettable adventure

Have you ever imagined sharing a sleepover with sharks? At Palma Aquarium, you can do just that thanks to our school camps: a unique educational experience that brings together learning, adventure and fun in a single package.

Pupils will have the chance to discover the aquarium from a completely different perspective, join a guided tour around the aquarium, watch a film about humpback whales or the planets in our Aquadome 3D Cinema, and enjoy activities and interactive workshops that will reveal the secrets of the oceans.

They will also be able to sleep in a specially designated area next to the shark tank: an unforgettable experience that combines learning with the thrill of being surrounded by these majestic creatures. The experience also includes a full day’s meals – from breakfast to dinner and including afternoon snacks – allowing pupils to focus all their attention on enjoying the experience.
